Most homes install between 6.6 kW and 13 kW. A smaller household or a small roof suits 6.6 kW, a typical family home or one planning a battery suits about 10 kW, and homes with a pool, an electric car or high evening use often go to 13 kW. We size your system from a full year of power bills, not a single sunny day.
In Sydney in 2026, a 6.6 kW system is about $6,500 after the federal rebate, a 10 kW system about $9,800 and a 13 kW system about $12,800. Your roof, the brands you choose and any switchboard work change the price, and your quote is fixed and itemised. Our Sydney solar cost guide breaks it down.
Most home installations take a single day. Before that, we apply to your electricity network for connection approval, which can add a few weeks before your system is fully switched on.
Usually, yes. If you think you will want a battery, we can fit a battery-ready hybrid inverter now. If not, a battery with its own inverter can be added later. Eligible batteries get about 30% off through the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program. See home batteries and whether a battery is worth it.
Most tiled and metal roofs are. North-facing panels produce the most, but east- and west-facing panels work well too and match morning and evening use. Flat roofs can use tilt frames. We check shading, roof space and your switchboard before we design your system.
